About Aingeal Ridge Alpacas...

Established in 2005, Aingeal Ridge Alpacas is managed by Geoff, Jenni, Alysia, Abby and Sophie Smith.

We are conveniently situated in the popular Murrumbateman ~ Gundaroo Winery and Tourist trails and support local events and publications, such as the Murrumbateman Field Days, the Yass Visitors Guide, the Mount Carmel Year Book, the NSW Southern Region Annual Show, the Boorowa Show and EPIC.  2008 saw our first exhibits in the Canberra Royal, Sydney Royal and National Alpaca Show and Sale.

From our initial investment of six huacayas, we have selectively sourced our animals from proven bloodlines and our stud has grown to almost sixty.  We are members of the Australian Alpaca Association Ltd under herd codes AGL and JGS (yes, we have two) and participants in the Q-Alpaca program (cert 08/0280).  Our stock are predominantly from Purrumbete Highlander bloodlines.

and a little bit about our families…

Geoff’s parents, Ron & Judy Smith, they live in Whitebridge, a suburb of Newcastle.  We thank these shutterbugs for the photos that they have contributed to our webpage and they have helped us immensely in farm sitting when we have needed to be away for extended periods of time, with Judy taking on midwife duties with her delivery of a cria in early 2008 - an experience not to be forgotten.

Jenni’s parents, Ian & Elizabeth Coxhead, live in Nemingha, a small village just outside of Tamworth.  They produce premium quality lucerne hay - you know, that green stuff alpacas love.  Contact them for the best lucerne hay you will ever hope to get.  Their website is currently in production and we will provide a link when it is up and running.  In the meantime, please feel free to ask us to put you in contact with them.
