14/11/08 Sophie visits the National Zoo & Aquarium …

On a school excursion, Sophie (aged 8) visited the National Zoo & Aquarium in Canberra today.  Sophie came home and reported that the zoo has an alpaca exhibit with four huacayas -  two white, one brown and one black.

A suggestion - perhaps the AAA should sponsor the alpaca zoo exhibits?  What do you think?

On their exciting trip to at the zoo, Sophie and her class fed the giraffes, emus and bears.

22/11/08 The Weather’s Turned Nasty…

The rain’s most welcome, and our dams are all full.  The wind, hail and sleet are a little less than desirable, but it means a lazy day inside with a book and the TV for a change (plan to watch Hancock, Get Smart and Made of Honour).
